Civity (https://www.civity.org/) seeks a dynamic self-starter to assist in the organization’s social media and communications efforts and learn the basics of digital communication for a nonprofit organization. This internship is anexcellent opportunity to experience various aspects of communications while working for a nonprofit organization working to weave community connections and ensure all members of a community are heard.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Help develop content for social media and website.

• Assist with design of social media posts and other communications collateral

• Assist in writing content, including for Newsletters, blogs, and social media

• Research topics and guests for Civity podcast

• Assist with prep of podcast interviews and producing of podcast and related content

• Update website and database as needed

• Assist in reaching out to the community organizations and leaders

• Possible video and audio production, depending on projects in progress during internship

 

Qualifications:

 

• Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or other relevant major).

• Previous internship or related experience in or communications is a plus

• Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, Excel, social media platforms). Knowledge of Word Press, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Constant Contact a plus

• An effective communicator, both written and oral

• Ability to be highly creative and work independently

• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with colleagues and community contacts

• Self-motivated, organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task & meet deadlines

 

Compensation: This internship is available for class credit. In return for your time and dedication, you will receive excellent experience while helping a great cause and having fun!
