Fall Sitting Room Internship
For this Fall the Sitting room would like to prioritize our invitation to students especially interested in the visual arts and the archives that accompany the many books about women painters/sculptors/
Looking for one or two students. One potentially for an art specialty and one more general.
Students who aspire to be librarians and archivists benefit especially from their experiences here..
As we always brag, we are walking distance from campus, our hours are flexible, tea and coffee are available, and then, of course, we are quite nice people to work with.
Please send an email of interest along with a resume to J.J. [email protected].
The phone number is 707 795-9028.
Founded in 1981: The Sitting Room was established by a group of women who recognized the need for greater access to books by and about women.
Moved in 2004: Initially located in Cotati, California, it moved to its current location in Penngrove in 2004.
Inspired by UC Berkeley's Morrison Reading Room: It aims to be a gathering place for women, hosting salons and celebrating the contributions of women artists and writers.
Extensive Collection: The library boasts a collection of over 7,000 titles, all donated by early visitors and volunteers.
Beyond a traditional library: It also features archives, exhibits highlighting its collections, and offers a comfortable space with coffee, tea, and Wi-Fi for individuals to work or study.
Always coffee, tea and wifi available
