XQL Media: Latinx/Indigenous Film Company internship Spring 2025 or Summer 2025
Malinalli López Arreguín is an award-winning film producer, writer, director, and entrepreneur. She is the founder of the film production company XQL Media and a digital media company The Bronze Rose. Her flagship company XQL Media produces films in the documentary, supernatural, horror, and drama film genres.
The Bronze Rose is a media company dedicated to producing innovative media that amplifies the stories of entrepreneurs of color. Both media companies are based in the North Bay Area. She has an MFA in Motion Picture and Film from the Academy of Art University, a BA in Chicano Studies from UC Berkeley and a certificate in Entrepreneurship from Cornell University.
In 2021 she produced the award-winning feature Hyena, winning awards at 22 film festivals around the world. López Arreguín wrote, directed, and produced the feature film True Humans in 2018 about the closure of the Sonoma Developmental Hospital. Her inspiration is in telling the stories of women, and communities of color.
