Sonoma County GO LOCAL is a co-op of locally owned businesses. Our mission is to shift consumer and commercial purchasing to locally owned, independent businesses to lift our local economy & quality of life. I am in the process of launching the Sonoma County GO LOCAL Foundation to provide direct support for the Local First Movement and the co-op's public education mission. It's very exciting and I'm learning a lot.

Sonoma County GO LOCAL supports the LOCAL FIRST Movement

GO LOCAL's mission is to shift consumer and commercial purchasing to locally owned, independent businesses to lift our local economy & quality of life.

 

Sonoma County GO LOCAL Cooperative is a community alliance of locally-owned, independent businesses and organizations, providing networking and economic development marketing for its members and the LOCAL FIRST movement. Business and organization members work together using shared brand promotion, targeted advertising, and a Rewards Program to increase sales, which in turn strengthens our local economy. Community members learn how and why to support local businesses. 

About the position

Duration: January 2024-May 2024, 

Location: Hybrid  - mostly remote and sometimes at the GO LOCAL office located 1500 Valley House Dr. #210, Rohnert Park. 

 

Under the supervision of the Communications and Administrative Coordinator, the intern will support member communications.
 

Duties may include:

  • Creating and editing social media posts and emails

  • Measuring results and drafting social media reports

  • Supporting events including attending a monthly Refer Local lunch with GO LOCAL members

  • Putting together packets for membership renewals and new members

  • Taking pictures of member ads 

  • Data entry 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with Canva and Dropbox

  • Experience with professional social media tools (Meta Business suite)

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Interest in social media and communications

  • Interest in local business

  • Knowledge of local business is appreciated but not required

  • Willingness to learn any of the above
