My name is Veronika and I’m an organizing director with the Student PIRGs. We’re the nonprofit group working for a greener, healthier, and meaningful future. We run a volunteer and leadership program at schools across the country to help students make a tangible impact on issues they care about.
For example, our chapters in California helped pass the new plastic grocery bag ban last year to reduce plastic pollution and protect our oceans. Our chapters in Massachusetts worked to pass the Hunger Free Campus Act to ensure stable funding for campus food banks. And our chapters in Washington state helped pass a bill to create a prescription drug affordability board to set prescription drug price limits and protect patients.
Now we’re working to promote our full-time organizing jobs for graduating seniors and leadership training opportunities for those still in school!
Thank you!
